The words and beyond
I realized at a young age that writing was a lifelong passion of mine. I've come a long way from acting as editor-in-chief of the The Clark Gazette (my childhood family newspaper). I've written for AAA Northeast, Rhode Island Monthly and Engaged RI, among other publications. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Connecticut and a Masters of Fine Arts in creative and professional writing with a concentration in food and travel journalism from Western Connecticut State University. I also have a background in hospitality and am the proud mom of a Garfield-esque kitty. Feel free to contact me directly if you would like to learn more about me and my work.

Western Connecticut State University - Tutoring Center University Assistant and Evening Supervisor
Working in the Ancell Commons tutoring center for the WCSU business school, I am the assistant to the coordinator.
Serve as evening supervisor for the center, assisting students and tutors with both synchronous and asynchronous tutoring sessions
Coordinate with faculty and staff in efforts to best support students

Ocean House - Server, Hostess, Restaurant Supervisor
As a server, I served guests in all six of this Forbes 15-star, AAA 5-diamond, Relais & Chateaux property's dining outlets, all while adhering to the highest standards in the hospitality industry.
As a hostess and reservationist for the hotel's fine dining restaurant, I worked to guaranteed an even and prodcutive flow of actiity during service to ensure overall restaurant success and developing a hosting system deemed worthy of teaching to new employees by hotel executives.
As a restaurant supervisor, I served as the assistant to the manager of one of the hotel's casual, seasonal dining outlets and trained and educated staff members as to sequences of service and Forbes standards.

All writing projects I did for this janitorial supply company were completed using SEO strategies to increase website traffic and search engine visibilty. In my time here I also conceived, developed and implemented a blog-based marketing strategy.
